Double Eagle Ranch
The Double Eagle Ranch is a working cattle ranch and horse-boarding stables located near Elsberry, Missouri, approximately 30 miles north of St. Charles and St. Peters off highway 79. It is also about 10 miles north of Troy, Missouri, off highway 61 at highway B.
The ranch consists of almost 1,600 acres of rolling terrain, half of which is open for pasture and crops. The remainder of the property is forested, with over 25 miles of riding trails connecting different parts of the ranch.
In addition to the cattle business, the Double Eagle Ranch is a horse boarding facility with over 70 boarded horses. We provide both pasture and stall boarding for all types of horses. There are two barns for stall boarding, each with its own tack room, the larger barn with its own wash stall. Each barn has access to pens and pastures for daily turnout.
With at least 200 acres of pasture, horses are divided into a series of individual gelding and mare pastures, along with a dry lot for each. Each pasture contains automatic waters and wind breaks. There is a common wash rack for pasture boarders and three individual tack rooms.
We have three riding arenas, one indoor and two outdoor. One outdoor arena is set up with jumps and the other has lights (as of the spring of 2016). Although we do not offer training at the ranch at this time, trainers of boarded horses are allowed on the property and there is a round pen. A series of regulations for the training of horses can be found on the trainer agreement page.
Specific details pertaining to pasture and stall boarding, along with rules and prices, can be found in the fees and boarding agreement sections of this website.
Hours of operation: We are open seven days a week, including holidays, from 8 am to 9 pm.
The Double Eagle Ranch is not open to the public for trail riding.
At the heart of the property is a 30-acre lake that holds bass up to 8 lbs and carp up to 20 lbs. The Double Eagle Ranch is a natural environment not only for cattle and horses, but also for deer, turkey, ducks and geese.
